Tada! So we have been working behind the scenes on a pretty neat little project.  With much gratitude and support from the City of Toronto Innovation Grant, we have created a 6 episode podcast called "The Bloorcourt Podcast".  The idea stemmed from wanting to create more content and resources for our member businesses. In-person seminars or workshops were proving to be challenging (even before Covid) with scheduling conflicts or timing constraints of facilitators. There are a lot of important discussions and topics that needed to be covered, so we thought it would be helpful if we were able to create a resource that businesses, employers/employees, residents and community members could tune into for some additional information and education. Show notes are made available after each episode launches with links to programs, initiatives, organizations, etc. that are mentioned in each podcast.

The episodes of the podcast will be (and you can listen to each podcast by clicking on  the title on/after the launch date)
  • Welcome to Bloorcourt

Land Acknowledgement
The City of Toronto acknowledges that what we now call Toronto is on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The City also acknowledges that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.

African Ancestral Acknowledgement
The City of Toronto acknowledges all Treaty peoples – including those who came here as settlers – as migrants either in this generation or in generations past - and those of us who came here involuntarily, particularly those brought to these lands as a result of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery. We pay tribute to those ancestors of African origin and descent
